Teacher's Forum: Teacher Guide Now Available
The Espejos y Ventanas Teaching Guide is now available. Simply click on "Teachers Materials" on the "Espejos" webpage. We hope you will share you experiences teaching the book. If you have questions for Mark Lyons, Ed. of Espejos y Ventanas, or Steve Parks, Co-Writer the Teacher's Guide, please post them here. We will respond to every question.

Two More Universities Adopt Espejos y Ventanas
Espejos y Ventanas has been assigned to courses at the University of Houston and University of Detroit-Mercy. Espejos y Ventanas has previously been assigned at other universities, such as Temple University and Syracuse University, as well public schools. Poetry From Espejos y Ventanas Featured in Monthly Review
Monthly Review is featuring Indocumentado/Undocumented, which appears in Espejos y Ventanas, by Enrique Cortazar. Monthly Review plans to run additional excerpts from the workers in an upcoming issue.

North Carolina's Que Pasa to Highlight Espejos y Ventanas
For the next several months, the Mexican and Anglo community will be able to use Espejos y Ventanas to have a public discussion about issues of immigration, labor, and education. New City Community Press has allowed Que' Pasa's newspaper, which covers the entire state, to run excerpts from the interviews featured in the book.

Mark Lyons Offers Workshop For Migrant Education Program in Kennett Square
Mark Lyons recently offered a workshop at the Migrant Education Program in Kennett Square for 300 students and five high school teachers. Lyons used Espejos y Ventanas to highlight how their experience is part of the American tradition --- not against that tradition. Espejos y Ventanas, libro escrito desde el dolor de los inmigrantes
Espejos y Ventanas, es un libro hermosamente escrito. Y lo mejor de todo, es que sus autores no saben escribir, es decir, no saben cómo se escribe un libro. Muchos de ellos a duras penas saben leer.

Lograron esa maravilla porque las páginas son jirones arrancados de sus propias vidas.
De Espejos y Ventanas (Mirrors and Windows) brotan historias alucinantes de mexicanos sometidos casi que a trabajos forzados en los cultivos de hongos de Kennett Square, Pensilvania.
Es decir, es un libro hecho con historias que han sido construidas segundo a segundo a lo largo de infinitas jornadas de dolor. Hispanos sometidos, en muchas ocasiones, a un sistema de explotación sin misericordia. Seres arrancados, por la fuerza de la necesidad, de su familia y de su patria y lanzados sin piedad a un mundo desconocido, hostil, ávido de su sudor, de su fuerza de trabajo dócil e inagotable.
